FrOggy~~

[made this due to KoS subject]
xD

I used to have an ' obsession' over frogs. It's not like I love the actual frogs, but I love those fancy cute cartoons or drawing of frogs like keroppi..if you ever heard of it.
My dad used to tell me that when i was small;a toddler, I was saying something like 'Atak tengok tatak' at my mom's orchids garden I supposed. So maybe that's where it begun..

Eventhough some frogs are small and pretty but they are...poisonous..you know where some movies or commercial always use the term 'cute and deadly'..i supposed they took it from the frogs..

Most of the really small colourful frogs are poisonous in the wild. But these frogs tend to lose a lot, if not all, of their toxicity when bred in captivity (even if they were originally caught in the wild!). This is largely due to the lack of variety that these critters would normally be getting in their diet in the wild.

A huge amount of their toxicity is because of an ant that they eat in the wild which no sane pet owner gives them in captivity.
Despite it's label as the most poisonous of frogs, even the bright yellow p. terriblis isn't so poisonous that a human could die by just touching it in the wild.
The poison cannot permeate our skin.

If, on the other hand, there is a cut on the skin, however, before you have time to say 'oops that frog is poisonous' you're a goner, at least in the case of p. terriblis!
Same goes for if you forget after playing with this pretty frog and accidentally put your hand in your mouth!
Some tribes in rainforests dip their arrows in frog poison to make them deadly weapons. That's probably where "poison dart frogs" got their common name...

Not all the colorful frogs are poisonous.
Some imitate the poisonous ones with colour, and apparently the warning is enough to protect them from potential predators.

Just the gist about the most poisonous frog..if you ever wonder about it~

The Phyllobate Terribilis is the most poisonous frog in the world. It has enough toxin to kill up to 10 humans,or even 20,000 mice! This frog is considered the most poisonous animal in the world. If you were to take poison from this frog, equal to the size of the period at the end of this sentence, it would be enough to kill a full grown human. This frog is aggresive, yet does very well with other Terribilis' in captivity. For the most part, this frog is for more experienced people in the hobby.

have you ever think of this??

>>>How long can a frog lives?
  • It turns out that very little is known at all about the natural lifespan of frogs. Partially, this is because it's pretty hard to track a frog all its life! (I guess they havent figured out a good way to put little tiny collars around their necks!)

  • However, some records show that in captivity, many species of frogs and toads can live for surprisingly long times. They seem generally average somewhere between 4 and 15 years!

  • The longest lifespan entered was a European Common Toad (Bufo bufo ssp.) at 40 years!!!!!

>>>Do frogs have teeth?

  • Actually, yes!
  • Most frogs do in fact have teeth of a sort.
  • They have a ridge of very small cone teeth around the upper edge of the jaw. These are called Maxillary Teeth.
  • Frogs often also have what are called Vomerine Teeth on the roof of their mouth.
  • They don't have anything that could be called teeth on their lower jaw, so they usually swallow their food whole. The so-called "teeth" are mainly used to hold the prey and keep it in place till they can get a good grip on it and squash their eyeballs down to swallow their meal.
  • Toads, however, do NOT have any teeth.

<<<Still Luvin' it!!!
